#Cannot Integrate Tapo C210 Camera

I have been trying to integrate my new Tapo C210 camera into HASS but for some reason, it's calling for a password and username, which is new for the Kasa / Tapo integration. I have roughly 30 devices in that integration already and never had that prompt.

Regardless, I still went ahead in put my email/password in but it says it's incorrect. I went into the tapo/kasa apps, changed my password, and copied the exact email and password directly from the site to ensure it was correct, cause it's case sensitive.

I also went ahead and created a "camera account" which again, I followed the same steps to ensure the case sensitive areas area corret, which I verified they are.

It is still not working, and I'm now out of other work arounds. Does anyone have any tips or experience similar issues? Any help is appreciated.

Hi, I have the same cameras. After creating the camera account from the Tapo app, I remember having issues with the case of the account and password

#

Test and error, as far as I remember, but finally is working 😉

Got it.. nothing specific that made it work?

#

or was it a matter of the case sensitivity?

I'm going to look if I have something in my HA notes, one moment

Connection error: ('Unable to query the device: 192.168.86.60: ', TimeoutError())

#

That's what I get when I try to input an updated password which is very basic and definitely corret.

#

I tried again now and got this

#

Unable to authenticate: Device response did not match our challenge on ip 192.168.86.60, check that your e-mail and password (both case-sensitive) are correct.

Just doesn't make sense I'm staring at the username and password on the app on my phone and inputting it directly character for character on my pc in HASS

If I remember correct (as I haven’t used them in long time) you need to specify a device username and password. So it’s not your account for the app, you need to open the device settings in the app and provide a username and password

Yes, I also refer to the "Create account" into the app. It's not the login of that app

Right, that's what I'm doing which is done by going to the camera > advanced settings > camera account > create > input username and password (I'm doing super simple stuff like user and pass, all lower case to see if it will work) > copy that information character for character and put it into the integration setup, still getting the error.

#

it says app email, but either way, I've tried both my app email/password and the device email/password, neither work.

restarting the camera made it work for some reason... maybe IP? not sure honestly.
