Did some research a few years ago and it wasn't at all possible. Looking now and it seems like it still isn't, but I want to make sure.
We've moved and im re-doing our entire smart home setup. I will have lots of Kasa switches, and Lutron Caseta Dimmers (and pico remotes), but I've always wanted to integrate some type of smart bulbs so that i can setup automations to change the color temp over the day (and whenever I want)

Is this at all possible in 2025?

some smart switches support a sort of "detached mode" where they basically just act as smart buttons without controlling a load (this is easy to do with tasmota and I assume esphome as well). If that isn't an option, then you could wire the switch to not actually control the load and then wire the load to be always hot

This is likely against local codes (at least in the US) and naturally isn't great if the smart lights can't be controlled for some reason

Wyze switches have a selectable option for single press function (Classic control for normal bulbs, or Smart control to control Wyze smart bulbs). The switches also have a double press, triple press, and press & hold configurable actions that are all programmable in the Wyze app to define actions like color/temperature, control other bulbs, or trigger a routine. You can also set automation in home assistant for other vendor entities based on wyze switch actions.
