#Scene vs Script

I set up a scene to do a few what I thought were simple things.

  1. Turn on AVR
  2. Set source on AVR
  3. Set Output on AVR
  4. Turn on TV
  5. Set Input on TV
  6. Activate AppleTV

This all works great if the last thing I did was use the AppleTV.

If I did something else prior, I get an error that the input on the Tv doesn’t exist. Okay I thought I’d switch to a script so I could control the timing better but some of the options don’t seem accessible from a script. Is there a fix for the scene? Or ideas on how to handle the script?

Thanks. After looking closer it’s not that it isn’t available, it isn’t as user friendly or easy to find . I think some of this is definitely my inexperience with media player entities. I’ve mostly used HA for lights and to expose to HomeKit. Example of where I was having an issue: when selecting source or input I need to get the name right. I think I have a script working now but it took a few attempts to get the correct spacing for an input and I had to look up the source for the avr.
