#Using Aqara U200 smart lock with Home Assistant

Hi,
I'm considering purchasing the Aqara U200 smart lock to use with Home Assistant. Here's my current setup:

  • Home Assistant running on a mini PC
  • SkyConnect dongle (Zigbee + Thread support)
  • Echo Show 15 (2nd Gen), which can act as a Thread Border Router

I'd like to use the lock with all of its features, including Apple Home Key, remote control, and full integration with HA.

My questions are:

  1. Can I add the U200 to Home Assistant directly via SkyConnect?
    Would this give me full access, including remote control and advanced features?

  2. Alternatively, can I use the Echo Show 15 as a Thread Border Router to add the lock to Home Assistant?
    Is this integration even possible?

  3. Or would I need an Aqara Smart Hub M3 to unlock the full feature set of the Aqara U200 especially Apple Home Key support and remote access?

I'm using the U200 via skyconnect and I only can lock/unlock and open the door
you can't manage temporary pins for example

Keep in mind it's no longer recommended to use a single coordinator for Zigbee and Thread. As it was just to unstable to run on the same chip.
