I've just managed to set up my Zigbee lights and switches (2 pairs of STOFTMOLN lights with RODRET dimmers) with Home Assistant and wanted to bind the switches to the lights in the same rooms (one pair is in a bedroom, the other in the living room).
However, these switches just control both lights irrespective of their assigned area, and I have absolutely no idea how to sanely fix this, since building automations by hand will be really tedious and I couldn't even get dimming to work this way.
How do I limit the dimmer switches to only turn on the light in the area they're in?

Hi, Gloria, I'm afraid that the remotes and the lights are binded directly for what you say. If you have not created a manual automation in HA, is the only way it works as is working now 🙂
I recommend you to learn to create a simple automation. I have several of this remotes and are very useful to use through HA. I use some of them to switch on a TV plug, or to switch off a plug with a lamp, I.e.
one of the swirches has started to affect only one light, while the other one still controls both
making automations would be an incredibly tedious endeavor
HA has to have something better than that
Well, I think HA is not for everybody for now. It's not as "friendly" as systems like Alexa, Google Home, etc...
@stiff halo - how are they currently linked together?
I dunno tbh
I tried using the Binding stuff in the Zigbee device management but it seems to do nothing
I tried setting up some manual automations, that worked for one of the switch and light pairs for turning it on and off, but it broke dimming entirely
so I got rid of those but now that switch only controls the light it's meant to control
the other one still controls both
seems like you can pair them, maybe one got paired with both accidentally
no
I paired them to the Zigbee dongle in HA
I wanted HA to be responsible for linking them
this would make connecting the lights to HA impossible
the Dirigera hub IKEA offers makes this stupidly simple, I'm baffled HA doesn't have a simple "what should this switch control" screen
or maybe I just haven't found it
ah i see
