Has anyone seen this happen where the Apple Watch just shows GUIDs and stops working? I believed this happened after switching phones.

Any thoughts?

Anyone happen to have any thoughts on this? Still haven’t been able to resolve it

If you restored your backup from iCloud in your new phone instead of transferring data directly between phones, this can happen.

Go to your watch configuration in the iOS app, tap the reset button at the bottom and add the items once again

wet lily
#

will that wipe them from the phone?

#

and i have to manually create each button?

queen palm
#

Unfortunately yes, it will reset your watch config.

wet lily
#

This button?

queen palm
#

Wait wait

#

So it shows correctly on your phone?

wet lily
#

yes

#

Then let's try something else, delete the watch app and reinstall it

wet lily
#

tried that

queen palm
#

Try once again, but reboot in between

wet lily
#

So remove it here

#

It can happen that your watch is somehow trying to fetch data from the old phone

#

Yes, or delete via the watch, I usually delete there

wet lily
#

you usually delete it on the watch or the phone?

queen palm
#

watch

wet lily
#

ok rebooting

After rebooting, install it again and try to sync with the iphone app open as well. brb, need to logout for a few minutes

Uhg so I think one that I manually copied or recreated is the only one that came over

#

so i readded them all and they are showing up now... atleast on this watch, i have to check my other one

#

and they are working

#

why are they getting rid of IOS actions?

queen palm
#

I don't think the App supports multiple watches, but you can try

#

iOS Actions are being considered legacy right now because they are more complex to setup, since a simpler approach is now available you dont need the hassle of iOS Actions anymore.

Before: Create action -> Create automation that catches the action event and do something.
Now: Just create a script and add to your watch, done.

#

Also to remove an iOS-only concept that did not exist anywhere else

Is there anything that shows how to convert from Actions to Scripts/Scenes? Can you adjust icons/colors/etc the same way? Also I used node-red to handle some things, can that still be done?
