Hey all!
I already have a garage door opener, now I'm looking for something to make it smart and integrate it into home assistant. Any suggestions that you know work well?

Depends on brand. I have Ratgdo, and it’s awesome. If yours is supported, I’d recommend it.

I have the Meross and it has been working well for me. It's designed to connect directly to an existing opener however there's openers that don't support this. For those, they send you a remote that can be attached to the wired connection. I was able to use an extra remote I had by connecting the wiring to one of the buttons until the one Meross sent out arrived.

GoControl GD00Z-8-GC has been working great for me if youre looking for a non-wifi option.

My gocontrol had a hardware failure after 2 years and I read that’s pretty common. YMMV.
