Can we get Alexa devices to ask us things like, hey the door is unlocked, do you want me to lock it?

This was done by Alexa Actionable Notifications long time ago. It's hard to setup, and it's only feasible for predetermined responses - and I don't even know if it still works, because I ditched Alexa more than year ago.
Regarding ask question feature - of course no. Alexa is nothing to do with HA voice assistant.

Yeah found the article, have to create a new Alexa skill, way overkill, looking for an easy way which doesn't exist
