First, I never really used area cards of the previous version as I always wanted more control of the finished product. I was excited to see the new development and have given it a go. I find that several features are nice, but there are still missing features in my opinion.
Without making YAML modifications, why would the card be designed so that you can only add a button to turn all lights on or off? Why not add the ability to select the entities or devices that are already in that area on an individual basis? Further, why not expose the features of the entity like color or dim?
Temperature: Again, no ability to select the sensor that you want. The card selected my Reef Tank water sensor as the default for the area for some unknown reason. Its great to see what temperature my aquatic life is swimming in, but, well selection would be nice.
Energy: Same as above. Instead of selecting the monitored energy for the space, I can see my Reef tank Energy.
The list goes on. I do hope that the card gets better with time. I see lots of room for improvement unfortunately.
