Hello, I’m new to HA been messing around with it for a few weeks and starting to get the hang of it. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with soil moisture sensors to see when I’m overwatering or not watering enough for citrus tree in containers. Looking to see what’s affordable not trying to spend 400+ dollars on one sensor. I currently have 5 different citrus trees. Thank you in advance.

The sensors I use, Ecowitt WH51, are not all that expensive but they do need a gateway as well. I bought a complete weather station from them anyways so the gateway came for 'free'. There's a very good (local) integration for Ecowitt that was easy to get going.

Might be worth a look?

I have an ecowitt soil moisture meter as well...slightly different WH51 and I too use the HA integration and find it works well
