I have dynu https://www.dynu.com/ you can register a whole global ddns hostname. So haos.your.sub.domain plex/jellyfin.your.sub.domain enz. Work and are handeld by your web proxy

no i just use the default 192.168.88.1

Well if you have a local dns. Or pihole. You can register your haos hostname and set the local ip. So you can use ssl locally even if the internet is down

yeah it does kinda use https locally (192.168.88.5 does work with only https) even tho the https has a red line going over it

also i set the local hostname to "homey" lol

Yes you will not have that redline

Clients on your local network can work with ssl. Backend systems that use ssl stop talking if they see that red line
