#Re-installing as 64-bit on RPi3

Create and download a backup (and the encryption key). Install HAOS, upload the backup and restore it.
I'm facing the same situation. How did it go for you?
I haven't done it yet. I don't have the free time I used to. HA used to recommend the 32-bit installation on RPi3s. I wish they would have just told me to go with the 64-bit version back then.
Same and I was already thinking of maybe getting a rpi4 or 5, but figured I'd try it with the rpi3 still before spending money needlessly
It's been a while since I messed with HAOS and my rpi, is been running so smoothly I hardly had to look at it. Now I feel like I have to relearn everything again (I'm not that technical)
It stinks because after some struggles I finally got the installation into a 'it works, don't touch it ever again' kind of situation, and now I'm going to have to wipe it all. But there's only so much complaining you can do for open source. 🙂
I'll get to it eventually, so follow up with me in about two months
I've got a 2nd old microSD card I might use for this instead of wiping the original. But it's still a hassle when it's all neatly tucked away
It's not an A2 Version and the website also recommends a rpi4 or 5. I feel like it's running on fumes, but it hardly does anything heavy, so I hope it will last me a long time still
Yeah, I'd do the same, use a different SD card. That way I can start over as many times as necessary.
The fact that a Pi4 or Pi5 is now the recommended target makes me wonder if HA shouldn't have been built on something as bloaty as Python.
