Please help! I have been into HA for more than a year but for the first time trying to implement AI. I have Google AI integrated with openWakeWord, Piper, Whisper configured.
On the Assist pop-up everything working well (TTS/STT), tested in MacOS Chrome browser also HA App on iPhone. But the problem is wakeword not working on any devices. Tried selecting different wakeword with no luck.
Is there something I am missing really?

ok thats what I wanted to understand. Do I need a hardware MIC/Speaker always or for basic testing I can use my phone like "Hey Siri" in Apple devices ?

wake words are signed to "wake up" a voice sattelite device.
you cant wake a website or phone app with it
you need something like this - https://www.home-assistant.io/voice-pe/
but that uses an onboard wakeword model anyway so you dont need OWW for that

ok that seems external hardware. How to do it in Phone using phone native MIC/Speaker ?

you cannot use a wake word to wake assist on your phone
that functionality does not exist

ok got it. then ESP32 based H/W or RaspberryPi based H/W is needed

yeah, I highly recommend the voice PE that i linked above. it works great and buying it supports the project
