ISO gps tracking device

Have a rather specific need - I need to track a pony’s grazing muzzle. AirTag doesn’t cut it because the field is probably 20-30 acres.

I am looking for a smallish gps tracker device that can report location maybe every 15-30min. I would like to make an automation that runs when the location hasn’t changed in an hour or two, as that means pony has likely lost the grazing muzzle and I need to get over there to locate it and get it back on as losing the muzzle puts him at health risk if off for a long period of time.

I’d rather use my own SIM card on a thingsmobile account because if the first one works well, I’m likely to get rid of the rest of my AirTags.

Bonus if I can print some kind of 3d case to attach it to his muzzle.

there seem to exist multiple integrations for various pet trackers. one of those might fit your usage? just attach it to the muzzle instead of the pony?

Need it to work with BYO SIM card too and was hoping someone had come across a device they liked

I actually think Lorawan may be an option since pony is about 3 miles away
