hey-hey πŸ™‚

What is the best multi room solution?
I can wire all the speakers to the same place if that has some benefits.
It needs to be wired so ethernet or speaker wire.
It would be nice if there was some solution for ledfx, spotify, airplay, etc.
I heard about SnapCast, but I dont want to put raspberry to every location, that seams wasteful (maybe the only option?). I could use esp32 based snapclient but I didn't found a board with ethernet and i2c support. (maybe there is a market for that? πŸ™‚ )

Snapcast works fine over the wifi. Unless you want to use like 20 rooms or something. (That that is if you dont use mesh wifi)
Esp home with snapcast works on some unofficial branches.

I has snapcast on old pc junk. With old audio stuff. And a pi zero with a bluetooth speaker in the bathroom Works great.

Have you checked in music assistant?

Sonos works great but isn't cheap or local

Well you need a audio aux so a pi3b will cost you like 40 euro. Most people drop perfectly working audio systems because they arnt smart. Check the recycling markets. Or call your local bang and olofson store. Plenty of old good quality stuff

#

And if you want left right audio in one room you need 2 smart pods
