#Please I just want Smoother Dimming via ZHA :(

I have ~12 hue bulbs, a Hue Tap Dial, 3 hue dimmer switches, and two Lutron Auroras. Before you ask I don't want to use the Hue Integrations with the Hue bridge, I would prefer faster, local control without API limits.

The Hue Tap and Lutron Auroras both have dials that I'd like to use for dimming my hue lights. My hue lights seemingly support smooth gradual dimming at least when I add a transition between scene activations. They also work great when connected to the Hue Bridge (but again, I want local control). I have tried about 15 different blueprints to help with smooth dimming, and a few different automations, but all just end up really choppy. I would vastly prefer a delay to choppy transition.

Are there any solutions you all have tried that have worked?

Just went looking into this a bit. You're right, smooth dimming doesn't seem to be an option. I feel like there should be a config value for transition time. I'm unsure what all is directly exposed by the bulb, but perhaps that could be implemented in software if not hardware.

That said, I use both ZHA and Hue for my lights, and the latter does not need cloud access. The bridge is accessed directly by HA, and the bulbs from there. There are no API limits either.

That's... odd.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense, it just wasn't as smooth as I remembered. Besides, I figured out how to get dimming to be almost smooth. Nothing special, just took out the bulbs that are not zigbee and the zigbee bulbs seemed to work as intended as long as I don't adjust too much.
