I run the Hyundai/Kia integration to get the status on my car. Maybe 2 or so weeks ago, I started getting intermittent reports of the sensors being 'unavailable'. It is happening maybe 50% of the time (a guess). During the remaining time, everything works as it is supposed to. My thinking is that the problem is with Hyundai but I would like to see if this is happening to other people. There is no pattern to the outages as far as I can see.

so the API that it uses is dreadful AND the integration itself isn't great as its been basically in maintenance only dev for a long time (no offence to devs intended).
it mostly works but its got issues. theres not really a lot you can do about it.
Yeah, I agree with all your points. I just wanted to see if other people were having the same issue. Lately it's been one issue after another and location information has been terrible for the longest time but at least the integration used to consistently supply information which gave the appearance of things working. As I type this, my car sits in my driveway and all sensors show as 'unavailable'. They have been that way since about 5 pm yesterday. At first I was thinking that this may be an issue due to an outdated cellular link since the older technology cell towers are being decommissioned but the data might pop back up even though the car never moved so I doubt it is caused by poor cell phone coverage. Anywat, thanks for your comment.
someones the cell modem in the car can stop reporting properly. you can reset it by holding a pinhole button on the car dashboard
sometimes that helps
poor coverage in some areas will defo effect it too
The reset is a good point and I will give that a try. Poor coverage, while definitely possible, is unlikely to be the cause in this case since the failures seem to be unrelated to the location of the car.
a tip to force the issue of it getting a data update: i have an automation that a few minutes after arriving home. changes the DC charging limit then a minute laster changes it back. this doesnt distupt the normal AC charging if it gets plugged in. and it forces it to try and send data to the car which then gets some info back
its a bit of a hack but it sort of works most of the time.
I actually have a 'force update' button on my HA home screen. Of course it can only help if the system works. BTW, I did do a reset and the vehicle started reporting again. No idea if this was coincidental or if it fixed the issue. Time will tell.
the update and force update button actions in HA are not something you want to mess with a lot. the API sometimes gets very angry with you and completely boots you off (including the phone app) for 24 hours and forces you to change password. but yeah the cell modem restart seems to be useful in most situations where its gone AWOL.
