#How do I use speech for Google Assistant in automations
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
i havent done it but i think the proceedure is along the lines of:
make a script that does what you want in HA -> then expose it to google assistant. -> then you might have to tell google to call the exposed script on specific command
I think I said it up to how you said it and it did not work
hopefully someone with more experience with google assistant can jump in. at some point.
sorry to ask, but why dont you set up your automation in HA directly when you have nabu casa? if device tracker out of homezone, turn off lights.. that way you dont need google
I like voice commands. As I run out the door I can go "hey google I'm leaving" and everything shuts off
I can also make the inverse when I'm driving home. I can say "hey google I'm coming home" and my lights, PC, air purifier etc will be on
my hair went from grey back to blond again after switching from google to nabu.. first i was like you fine with assistant, but in the end it's automation, so why asking HA or Google if HA can do it automatically. If i leave my house and nobody remains at home, everything switches off and goes back on if i am coming in to my homezone again. When setting up the automations correctly it can be tweaked far more then google can. But it's a personal thing, when you are happy that way and like voice commands, go ahead!
But mind your hair 😉
