I recently installed MSG100 meross garage opener and i would like to make an automation to close the garage door when i leave and one when i get back home to open it. How can i do it?

I also have to do add that i have 2 garage door and 2 different cars.

for our ford car theres an integration called fordpass which is kinda cooked rn, i tried with that and the gps doesnt refresh very often so its kinda useless

using device tracker of my phone works really well when entering home zone and leaving. tho its not really the best without some condition to see which car i am in

you could use a camera and frigate with object detection and scan for a car being in a "zone" that in front of each door seperatly

frigate 0.16 (currently in beta) will support licence plate recognition too I believe

does connecting my phone through bluetooth to the car work?

yes that would work, you can expose that as a sensor i beleive. (at least on android)

you would have to check if it exposes its bluetooth status to the app. check which sensors you can expose in the apps settings

you could put something like a "WICAN-OBD-C3" in the cars. this will allow you to see them hitting the wifi network when they get close enough. also has the side effect of getting some extra data from the car

assuming your HA instance is externally accessible for phone app then gps zone is likely one of the better options but its still not going to be perfect as reaction time will depend on polling rate. also you still need to solve the "what car is it?" issue

but then the problem would be with my parents phones, and then also it needs some other conditions to understand in which car we are in

a camera with license plate recognition might be the more flexible option there. if you want to give permission to a new car you can just add the plate to the system etc...

from what i know cameras are really expensive

any reasnable quality camera should work. (reolink are my go to recomendation but check the compatibility list on the integration documentation)
then pairing with software to do the LRP. i mentioned earlier that frigate will do this in 0.16 (which is currently in beta)

its something i plan to implement when 0.16 full release happens. but i think some people are using it without issue in beta already

i have it on the reolink integration but for the most part i would access it through frigate

i have mine set up on wifi and a power adaptor but it does support poe too

i havent noticed any delays at all. i guess it depends what your comparing too. theres always going to be some level of delay
