I successfully install the MSG100 garage opener of meross.
though i have a small problem, which is that when i normally press the button once in the real button it will open or close and if i press it during the opening and closing phase, it will then stop.
This happens the same if i do it on HA or alexa or homekit, but they all dont understand that the door is stoped and they get "stuck". What can i do to fix this?

if it doesn't show its current position then i guess you could put a couple of door sensors in place so you can get feedback as to when it reaches its final postition on each end.
then automate that "if not fully open AND not fully closed for 2 mins" its stuck so "do something"
the MSG100 has a sensor to see if it is close yes, but not one when its fully open
and also, when the garage door is stopped and i then try to open or close it with the smart garage door opener it wont do anything, not sure why it does that, maybe safety
I guess its a safety thing
I imagine its in hardware. "if stopped by button then ignore any remote calls"
weird, because when i use their remote controller it does work.
how does the remote work?
not sure, it has a receiver connected to the power and the garage door opener
emulating the remote might be the easiest solution
those kind of things are usually RF 433 i think
if its RF then can use something like a bond bridge to simulate it
i cant see the remote on the their advertising? is it an optional extra or something?
no no its not from the meross
the actual garage door gives a remote
ah i see now
yep yep
could look up the door's remote details and see how it works. then emulate that
the meross has no feedback to know the door status. it only knows how to say "door open" and "door close" and the "door is closed sensor" it has a bit of guesswork for inbetween and probably has safety cutouts
and to emulate it would be what u said earlier here? #1377311620048621650 message
yeah, what type of door system is it?
like 95% chance its RF in a standard frequency and a bond bridge would be able to emulate it
they are not the cheapest things and might need a bit of work though
though i am not sure what a bond bridge is, and is it worth it?

this are the settings in home assistant that i can adjust
oof pricy😅
it has a direct integration too
yeah the meross is going to be limited because it doesnt know whats happening
neither does the bond to be fair but its just a remote emulator in this case
what happens if you hard power cycle the door when its in "stopped" mode? does it reset? if so you could put it on a smartplug and reset it if you detect its "stuck"
what exactly do you mean by "hard power cycle the door"?
unplug/disconnect it from power completely
if it starts up and goes "huh this is strange i should close the door" then you have a way to reset it to a known working state
if it closes automatically?
should i also unplug the recevier for the remote or it doesnt matter? (not meross)
just kill all the power to it all and reset it when its "stuck" and see what it does
maybe it will do nothing
probably
but if it returns to a known state then you can work on top of that
i post what happened to the wrong chat ahaha, give me one sec to send it all over here
not that smart 😅
wait tho
i am trying to ask siri to do a few tests
basically the door is closed, i ask siri to open it, midway i tell her close garage door and it stops, i wait like 1 second and then i ask close garage door and it will close
but if i instead try to ask it to open it the second time it wont do it
and then if i try from when its open to then close it, and then midway ask her to open it, it wont stop or open, it will continue until its closed
and the HA app does kinda the same too
and then if i try to close it from when its fully open and instead i ask it to close another time it will then stop, but if then i try to ask it to open it wont open but if i ask it to close it will open
so yeah, its kinda weird idk.
yeah your running into the guesswork sections of how it works it seems
