#Tado integration does not allow changing water mode

I've been using the Tado integration for several months, and it's working fine including the new authentication method.

But... it's missing an action to set the water heater timer mode, i.e. to change the mode between "auto", "heat" and "Off". This can be done via the UI but not via an action. I know I can set a boost timer via the Tado set water heater timer action, but that's not the same as changing the mode.

The mode for Tado thermostats can be changed via the Climate set HVAC mode action as they expose a Climate entity, but the water heater doesn't expose such an entity.

Are there any workarounds, or is this a bug, or perhaps a feature that needs requesting?

I found that I can stop the water heating boost by starting another one for a very short time, e.g. 10 seconds. Watching the iOS Tado app I see that the water heating does turn off after 10 seconds when I do this, but... the HA Tado integration doesn't notice and still thinks the water heating is on.
