I want to have a touch panel mounted on a wall to control and monitor my Home Assistant and I'm looking for a recomendation. I'm assuming something running android to run the companion app would be best, but maybe something that just runs a browser could be a lighter weight (cheaper) solution?

i have an older tablet running in the kitchen in a "temporary" setup. but as we know... theres nothing more permanent than a temporary solution...
but in any case. its an older lenovo android tablet that i got cheap 2nd hand. the companion app is running in the background for some sensors but the actual dashboard part of it is "Fully Kiosk" which works great.
depending on your use case and how integrated you want to have it there are many options.

I have the tablet set in "battery saving mode" which means its keeps the battery between 40-60%. as i don't want or need a fully charged bomb sitting on the wall. The companion app lets me track the battery to be sure.
