I like to make sure I have the big consumers, grid sensors and solar panels added at least

I use the SEMMETER 16 channel along with MQTT definitions in my config.yaml. Been working swell and the app lets you setup your own mqtt server as a target as well. It has CTs for your mains and then 16 additional cts to put on your individual circuits. You can combine circuits too as long as they are in the same phase (in North America odds and evens)

I was thinking about doing that as well. You’d need to flash it with ESPHome in order to use it without their hub?
