I purchased one of these units since I was seeing in my research it could be directly connected to my HA instance. HA is running a VM. I dont want to use any kind of hub. I hold the reset for 3 seconds, I am blinking orange - I installed the Z2M add-on/integration - now what? I cant find any good guides on next steps

You need a Zigbee coordinator of some type

#

Zigbee is an RF protocol and needs a radio

well shit - so it doesnt just go directly into HA?

#

i figured it was like a SmartLife device or Wyze or Goveee where MQTT would be the go between

The devices have to communicate over some wireless protocol

ok - the HAS VM is under HyperV - so there is no USB pass through; so can that addon work with something IP driven - really all I am trying to do is setup lux monitoring, so when it gets dark (cloudy for exmaple) lights come on

MQTT is typically used WiFi or Ethernet as a broker

#

There are Ethernet-based Zigbee radios
