im moving from google home to home assistant, i have an old synology wich ill be upgrading to a stronger server in the near future, for now ill need somethig that is strong enough to run all my automations, can handle the 7 cameras we have and doesnt need reboots every so often.

Hard to tell how much load your 7 cameras will produce but I'd recommend a cheap used PC from eBay. Depending on location you can get them for 50-80 or so.

Maybe for the same money buy a dedicated server, like hp proliant ml110. Paid 70 euro , 16gb ram, xeon proc. installed proxmox and run HA in VM, you can add other VM's like samba server, dhcp, dns etc. I guess you will have more options too for your cams
