I have Z-wave JS UI installed. Previously used Z-Wave but migrating over.

Z-Wave JS UI is set up, port established and shows it's Driver Ready.

On the HA side - via devices/services I'm expecting to find Z-Wave JS as an integration and I'm not finding it only Z-Wave is available. I tried the manual install link but it shows my menu but a blank page ont he right side. How can I finish this installation?

Z-Wave is the name of the integration.

So the old Z-Wave was removed and replaced with Z-Wave JS that is now called Z-Wave?

The OZW-based Z-Wave integration was replaced sometime in 2021 or 2022

Ah ok. I had tried to enter ws://localhost:3000 and it wasn't connecting so I wasn't sure what was wrong.

Figured it out. In case anyone runs across this in the future ws://localhost:3000 didn't work nor did a ws://direct.ip:3000 work but going to my Z-Wave JS menu entry the link to that was http://192.168.88.121:8123/a0d7b954_zwavejs2mqtt/ingress

Then in Z-Wave integration which I removed and re-added selecting No Z-Wave composer which prompts for a WS address again => ws://a0d7b954-zwavejs2mqtt:3000 which did work.

I did read it which helped me figure this out. Thakn you. I'm just posting the solution to simplify it.

I opted to just re-integrate my zwave devices which was the longer route which worked out.

I had to exclude and include my devices one by one.

Seems like the update recently broke it.

How long did you wait? It always disconnects during upgrade.

I tried adjusting the settings a bit for about 10 minutes then went for the restore option.

It wasn't immediately clear that I need to wait after an update but that's good to know.

10 mins would be too long.

If if can't connect it means the add-on isn't running or had an error on startup. You'd want to look at the add-on logs for that.

Alright will check that out later I'm still waiting on the backup restore.

I know Z-wave JS UI was running it said device available etc.

How long does it take to reconnect once restore/update completes?

there's no set time, it's an exponential backoff

It's back on 4.2.1 and same message.

Then there's a problem with the add-on. Did you change any settings?

Nope. I had it working on 4.2.1 no issues for an hour

Then it prompted for to update to 4.3.0 so I hit yes but made a backup.

This one is via Settings => Logs => Z-Wave JS UI via Home Assistant.

I suppose so, I don't use HAOS. Logs are also on the add-on page.

I see a bunch of Info related messages nothing that looks like its an issue or error

The reasons the integration cannot connect is either a) add-on has an error on startup, b) the WS server setting was changed/disabled.

WS Server still set to enabled, server port 3000 with DNS discovery on. Server host left blank .

What does reconfigure do if I try to reconfigure it to the same controller?

Is there somewhere else I should look for issues? The zwave js ui side looks fine and it looks like the home assistant z-wave integration just cant' find it anymore.

At the top I see it says scan completed. Does that impact things?

You can post your logs here, or post to the community forums

Is the integration actually not connected? As I said, you'll see that log every time there's an upgrade.

Yeah in Z-Wave JS UI I see my devices, but none of them are available in home assistant. And the Home Assistant Z-Wave has the error message I mentioned.

So for example none of the zwave device info are on the dashboards
