#Is Dobiss integration worth it or should I go for Zigbee lights

Hello,

When I bought my house, we already had partial Dobiss modules to dim our lights, put them all out at once etc. However, the module for the Dobiss application has not been installed.

I reached out and informed about prices (prices are excluding 21% VAT):
Local module, WiFi only, no integrations: €360

Cloud module, WiFi and mobile, integrations possible with HA: €1245.

I'm still reading up on things but am starting to wonder if I should just buy Zigbee related gear and lights instead?

For example:
Downstairs has 6 light bulb spots,
1 ikea light (zigbee 👍?) and 11 spotlights.
Upstairs has 11 bulbs and 4 spotlights
Attic has room for bulbs.

I'm still reading up but wondering if €1245 isn't a bit too much?

Hope I'm in the right place

That one sounds like when your internet fails you can't use your light switches anymore... great 😕

Personally, I'd just go Zigbee all the way. With proprietary solutions, you're always dependent on some company not randomly dying, or deciding that they're not making enough money anymore and shutting down the server for the thing you paid 2 grand for. On the other hand, Zigbee is already so widespread and established, there'll still be Zigbee devices around for much longer than I am
