Ok, I'm blind apparently. I was just looking for the quick little history for a light that just turned on and was wondering why. Used to be I could just click the device and see what triggered it. I guess that convenient feature has been moved to a "chart/logbook" icon that I'm not seeing.. Anyone able to tell me where to find said icon?
#"Chart/logbook" icon?

on the light entity moreinfo box its in the top right
Ok.. So it's just missing for me then.
Don't suppose you'd know why it's missing our how to get it back?
can you show a screenshot of where your looking with it not there?
its not that i dont trust you that its not there, just wanting to get eyes on the issue itself
Have you changed any settings of the Recorder integration, like exclusions? (recorder: in the configuration.yaml)
Or changes to the Logbook integration.
i don't remember ever seeing "recorder" in the config, i barely ever touch it
but there is no such thing in config
only logs i know of are in the settings
Which HA version are you running?
And is the entry default_config: present in your configuration.yaml?
Core: 2025.5.1
Supervisor: 2025.04.1
Operating System: 15.2
Frontend: 20250509.0
I don't have that in my config.yaml no
The missing default_config: entry is likely the reason you don't get the icon and logbook information.
Do I just add that near the top? Just default_config:
Wonder why it's not there, seems like something that should be, lol
Yes. That should fix it. That line is part of the default configuration.yaml at the beginning.
So it has likely been removed by accident.
After adding and saving it, do the config check in the dev tools and then restart HA.
weird. i've only ever added necessary things to that file for certain integration to function. I'm restarting HA now.
But: even if it starts to show that icon, there will likely not be much data shown for some time.
The whole logging and recording is part of that default_config.
The icon is back now
