#Shelly Negative energy value

yeah i had this a while back, they added an option to the webui to invert it.
click on the channel
then in its settings section
can invert the measurements so it reports correctly
if you cant see then you may have to update firmware but its been in for a while now so may already be there on new devices
yeah it will invert both.
its odd that they would be different polarities though
are you sure the device is wired correctly?
yes it is wired correctly
you could make a helper that take the absolute value of whichever one is negative i guess
This doesn't look wrong on the first one
The unavailable thing might have caused a negative jump or it actually was negative for a while. Make sure the right energy sensor is selected
If you were needed to sum absolute stuff it's usually installed wrong
this is how it was wired
how should I change it so that this issue is fixed at hardware level?
it was wired this way
it looks right to me. what is plugged into them?
phone charger, laptop chargers
is there anything with a c7/c8 power plug on it? (figure eight)
those can be plugged in either way, therefore changing the live/neutral orientation. the device doesn't care but the power monitor may
my printer does have that cable
and I sometime do plug that in
its possible that could confuse it but i am reaching a bit here
If this is continuous then maybe switch the wires could fix it
Or you create a helper sensor which always abs() the value
Tho I haven't seen that one yet tbh
No, as the Shelly has no reference to anything other then L and N it can not tell the difference.
i meant the c7/c8 connector
either way i dnt think its the issue, was just a random reach
