I see Sonos (and IKEA Symfonisk which is being discontinued soon) are the two most commonly recommended, but they're quite pricey and I've never loved Sonos's software. Are there any other reasonable options? The ability to play audio around my home from Home Assistant is a massive missing feature currently but I don't want to spend £200-300+ per speaker and then have to deal with Sonos's terrible app if I can help it.
I don't mind DIY'ing one or two, but there are a couple of rooms in my house where Wife Acceptance Factor is too important to use something janky and DIY and I would be much better off with a single unit
Is there anything else reasonably good, or should I bite the bullet and try to get some Ikea speakers before they're discontinued?
