#Issues with CM5 lite upgrade

I have tried 3 times (reverting back to CM4 after a failed attempt) following these instructions (https://support.nabucasa.com/hc/en-us/articles/25608040264093-Migrating-from-CM4-with-NVMe-to-CM5-with-NVMe) to upgrade to a CM5 16gb lite but i just get the solid green LED after a supposed successful rpiboot each time.

I have also tried to flash the nvme as someone suggested on the HA forums (https://github.com/home-assistant/operating-system/releases/download/14.0/haos_yellow-14.0.img.xz) but that still has the same outcome.

Does anyone else have any ideas on how to get this upgrade to work?

What NVMe are you using?

It is a Kingston SNV2S500G which i have been using without issue with my CM4 since i got the yellow on the original crowd source. I did think maybe that could have been the problem but not sure if changing from the CM4 to CM5 would mean that it wouldnt boot from it

Yes. Almost. Just make sure that the JP1 jumper is in UART position and not in USB.

#

If you install the OS directly on the NVMe (with an adapter for example), you don't need rpiboot.

#

And if you are using rpiboot, you might need to use the mass storage mode.
rpiboot -d mass-storage-gadget64

If you flash it to the NVMe directly, you don't need rpiboot and the JP1 has to be in UART position.
