Hi, I have some energy total entities in my setup that show total energy information.
When I try to import them into the energy dashboard I get an error about their entity ID not existing or I cannot even select them.
Data transfer happens via mqtt and custom yamls.
I do not understand how they can have entity IDs and not at the same time.
I would appreciate any help.
I should have probably added this: there is an entity ID: sensor.schlafzimmer_rollo_links_energy_total

oh yes, you are absolutely right, when I search in the energy dashboard I can see only the one without total:

I think it was an orphaned entry that turned up from a former setup, energy total just isn't available in the energy dashboard. I clicked "Beheben" (resolve) and was able to delete the energy entry

your sensor is not updating often, could be that it just hasn't got a valid statistic yet

It is complaining about "sensor.schlafzimmer_rollo_links_energy_total" (the real entity) not having a valid ID
I mean, I only defined a unique ID in the mqtt yaml, but it seems to be good enough for other dashbaords, could this really be due to infrequent updates? It is specifically complaining about a missing entity ID in one of the screenshots

ok, according to this: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/statistics/ entity_id is required for statistics and the energy dashboard needs statistics, so I need to add entity_id to my mqtt sensor yamls?
can I simply reuse the unique id as an entity id?
