#Problems with Lovelace Minimalist

I am unable to setup UI Lovelace Minimalist.
I followed the instructions for downloading via HACS (https://ui-lovelace-minimalist.github.io/UI/setup/download/) and installed browser_mod. Afterwards I folloewd the instructions for installation (https://ui-lovelace-minimalist.github.io/UI/setup/installation/) and checked "Include Custom Cards" to make sure it auto loads all the dependencies. However this does not seem to work for me. The elements are not available:

should I be finding the mods in there?
I restarted HA multiple times, however the integration does not seem to download the components.

By "Include Custom Cards: This will make sure almost all dependency cards are included and configured for you.
Activate "Include Custom Cards" only if you have not already installed the required Lovelace resources yourself, or if you dont want to install them by yourself. Otherwise this can currently lead to a freeze of the frontend due to double loaded lovelace resources." I would expect the integration to download everything necessary

I am using the UI editor. Is it necessary to use the YAML editor?

Edit. The cards are loaded now. however the templates are missing
