Does anyone know if the first and second gen nest thermostat will still work through the home assistant automation once official support for it stops relatively soon? I don't need help setting it up or anything, I am just curious on how much Google is screwing people over.

Whatever Google makes "dumb" is then dumb, so the integration would likewise not work.
