I cant get a Homekit enabled Netatmo Smoke sensor to connect to a new Shelly plug (within 4 feet)., Ive enabled active scanning but as far as I can see the Smoke sensor does not pick it up, and keeps connecting to a BT dingle on my HA instance much further away...

Wont these Shelly's behave properly as BT proxy at all (had a comparable issue with a Gardena valve) or is there a magic setting I need to enable on them.

I did manage to include the new gen3 plug in my first Matter network (jeej), so I am sure it is alive 😉

you need to enable the bluetooth proxy on the shelly's web ui. if thats on then it may just be that it prefers the stock bt device because it saw it first as the proxy will have a small latancy by its nature. as long as it works it should be fine

Sure I always have that enabled. Seems the Matter version is somehow less connective as by proxy than the regular gen 3 plug
