Hi everyone. Thanks for such a phenomenal resource here. I’m hoping the community might have some ideas for me.

I am looking for some sort of remote controlled robot that can manoeuvre around my house and show remotely a video feed.

The perfect vehicle might be a remote controlled car with a camera on a telescoping and rotating mast to go up high. Or possibly some sort of small drone? And could then return to a charging location.

The use case would be “whoops did I forget to turn off the stove” or “did that window shut” or “is there any soda on the shelf in the pantry” or whatever. Giving me peace of mind while travelling so I don’t need to ask a relative to visit my house to check something.

Grateful to hear any and all suggestions and thoughts.

Thank you in advance!

That sounds like a poor plan to rely on. Unless you like to diy something that might work half of the time or spend a ton of money for something real. Sensors in those locations or a simple checklist would be significantly cheaper and much more reliable at reminding you to turn off the stove and close windows.

This won't really look at a stove or close a window without a ramp rho

It can look and with its arm even a bit higher (not much though).

Interesting. Thanks for the share. The robotic arm on the vacuum is very cool. I’ve found a device from Ring called always home cam, which is a flying drone camera for indoor use, but looks like it’s not available in Australia.
