#A Home Assistant Green bought in EU will work in Canada, right?

The mains power might need adapting, but the unit itseld is the same.
Is the one sold in Canada even in any way different? I had assumed it came with the plugs so they can send literally the exact same SKU in many places
just pick up a local 12v adaptor and you will be fine
The original power supply comes with US, EU and UK adapters for its power supply. So it should be fine for 110-230 V.
I personally would take a look on it before plugging it in, but it is stated as "Universal power supply, 12 V DC, 1 A, comes with plug adapters for EU, US, and UK".
Yeah, and I have one that came with those adapters, I am just not an expert and not sure if 'shape matches' is enough
For all I know their zigbee is out of phase with ours or something xD
The power supply should have some markings on it. It should mention the range it is good for. 110 Volt / 60 Hz for Canada.
Zigbee has the identical frequency everywhere. Z-Wave has different frequencies for several regions.
https://www.amazon.ca/Nabu-Casa-Home-Assistant-Green/dp/B0CXVKSG19 The alternative is just buying it in Canada, but it costs like 20% more. But also, why does it say it supports bluetooth? It doesn't do that out of the box, does it?
260 CAD? thats gotta be marked up?
Yes
someone is marking it up and lieing about the spec whilst they are at it
Probably not intentionally, they may not even know what they're selling
The link shows the seller "onlyblooms", which isn't an official reseller.
No Canada 😭
if you look at their other items its all random stuff
One review says the item never showed up 😅
Anyway, so that seller is out
Basically this is why I'm considering going through the effort of lugging one over
I'm also hesitant to ship from the US right now
You are likely better off with seeedstudio from China. Not sure if sellers from UK have good customs and shipping conditions to Canada.
But it's fine, it's a small item, and it should work
To be clear my plan A is to personally bring it over, when I go there
And plan B is US Amazon
or seeedstudio
If you order at Amazon, make sure the seller is Nabu Casa.
It is
Importing stockpile to the US might be (too) challenging for a Chinese company at moment.
I would expect them to want to stockpile, so they can add to the pile when Trump is in a good mood and weather the bad moods
