Hi Guys. I wonder if anyone can help. I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to build an app that would run on a Fire TV cube to show HA screens. My app works on standard Android so the problem is related to Fire OS. One observation is that it seems that FireOS doesn't provide host name resolution - so homeassistant:8123 won't work.

My question for this forum - has anyone managed to get the standard HA companion app running on a Fire TV stick or cube? I've tried the full and minimal releases today (release 2025.4.3) without look. It sees the server but times out in trying to connect.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes the app works, Android isn't good with local DNS names so use the IP address directly

Thanks @untold phoenix I actually think the problem might be related to Fire TV's and not so much Fire OS i.e. tablets work but the TV h/w doesn't. Do you have experience of the Fire TVs?
