Setting Custom Voice to Global

Is there a way to set a custom voice for global voice responses?
I up loaded the voice via samba to the share folder and i see and can use the voice by the Voice Assistant interface in the webui and in automations. I do not however see a way to set it in the configuration in piper, it's just not there, at all.
