Hello, I’d like to ask if there is the possibility that the PE will support more streaming protocols later in development. I would like to group speakers in Music Assistant, but since the PE only supports (dunno which) protocol it has a big (multiple seconds) delay between devices. My other devices (AudioCast) that support AirPlay are synced pretty nicely
#Home Assistant Voice PE - More music streaming protocols?

Supporting additional capabilities (e.g. Squeezelite) would take more resources. Also it would have to be merged with assistant functionality somehow (in order to perform ducking, for instance). I wouldn't expect it, at least soon.
i am sure i saw a project writing a Squeezelite component for esphome but i cant find it now. i suspect stuff like that and others will appear in the future but it takes a bit of time
That would make it a lot more useful. Can’t wait
Yeah I even tried it. Kinda works but strains both CPU and ram. Also co-existing with voice assistant on single S3 chip is questionable...
We need some breakthrough. 🙂
do you have a link for it? i was a bit annoyed i couldnt find it earlier 😛
Sorry, looks like i confused squeezelite with snapcast. https://github.com/esphome/esphome/pull/8350
Can't find any meaningful work on squeezelite for ESPHome.
AFAIK Music Assistant guiys work on their own protocol for sync playback - but IDK if it will apply for HASS-players.
ah maybe it was snapcast i was thinking of too then
i imagine it will work with hass players as they will want it to work with things like the vpe
