Good morning!

I recently changed my home wifi router. This firmware supports smart select band. Unfortunately, this does not work properly when connecting 2.4 devices. Especially the smartlife cheap stuff.

Is there a way, apart from disabeling 5 and 5 and smart select, to connect the devices?

Not really a cheapskate guy but I really don't want to pay more for a temp/hum sensor than I did since it's just not worth it. What i dont spend on this, i spend on hue lighting and stuff that make a difference.

Smart Select only determines the best connection method. If i try to connect my phone to 2.4ghz, while it support 6ghz, smart select "senses" this and moves the connection to 6.
That is as far as i know about the smart select.

that should be sorted out client side. i would definetly be turning that off

its probably guessing if stuff supports for the most part

i used the guest network in my router for cloud based wifi devices. i set my guest network to be 2.4 only and switched my phone to that net before starting any pairing.

the guest network in that router can reach the internet but not my main home network. perfect for cloud based devices

Even my multi years old deco S4 has an option to create multiple wifi networks. Create one just for your iot stuff, and make it 2.4ghz only.
