#Pi 5

It seems fine on mine. I was originally just running it on a A2-rated SDcard, but moved it to an SSD on the official nvme Hat last night.
Think twice about getting a SBC: https://gist.github.com/Impact123/6ee130240bdc6a7fed2d5224616544a0
Works for me.
Thanks! I was also thinking an N100.
If you can find one for the same price with the same configuration, go for it.
Keep in mind that the pi5 is significantly more powerful than the older pi4.
The n100 also has slower memory. Using DDR4 while the pi5 has LPDDR4X, which is faster AND has lower power requirements.
From what @zenith abyss shared it looks like AM based SBC's are not a good idea.
Did you notice that what he shared was written by him?
No I did not
Indeed, just my opinion. You should always get a second one.
I have been happy with my pi5. I have the 8gb model, plus a 256G SSD installed internally using the official pi SSD hat. I have no issues with either my zwave or my zigbee USB sticks and both are not plugged in via a USB hub, but just a couple of extension cables to get them away from the other radios and each other.
A lot of the issues you talk about imho have work arounds.
Which, even if you use an N100, you should still use the USB extension cables.
Are you a trucker?
I'd rather have a new pi5 and SSD, than buy a used N100 for the same price
Not any more. But I drove for almost 20 years
Well hello driver
salute
Be careful. About 3rd to 5th year is when most new drivers start to really become comfortable. And becoming comfortable in that job is dangerous.
That's the point where they start to think "I got this. I'm a good driver. I can push it a little now." Don't do that.
I can see that. I try my best to run safe. I have got 2 awards so far this year for a perfect safety record.
Nice. I drove OTR for years. Did a little oversized work with skateboards, and then overweight shipping container work here locally. 95k pounds was just another day.
But I put in an app with the local county electronics department on a whim, and surprise! They hired me. I've been out of the truck since the end of July.
Started in 2003. 😃
Good for you brother! It is not an easy life. I run a dedicated account bumping docks mon-fri 60-70 hrs
Do I miss it? Sometimes. But I'll tell ya, it's nice being able to know I'll be home on specific days.
Yeah, dedicated routes are always best.
Speaking of work, time for me to go do some. Good luck with whichever you choose. The N100 is a good, beefy system, just keep in mind to match prices with a new pi5, you'll be buying one used.
Enjoy! And happy automating!
