I have been trying to connect to my mother in laws home assistant that I just stood up and I have been unable to connect to it. Mine at home uses ngnix and duckdns for its access but I set hers up to just use the built in Home Assistant Cloud. I have configured her router to port forward 8123 to the HA Green that is running there but I can’t connect to it from our HA using either the WAN IP nor the HA Cloud URL. From what I can tell the HA Cloud URL is just a proxy to her instance as the IP from the NSLOOKUP isn’t her WAN IP. What should I be doing to get these to connect so I can have a single pane of glass to manage it and give us push notifications if she has taken her pills yet, etc.

if port forwarding doesnt work its possible she is on a CG-NAT which would mean this wont work.
if your using home assistant cloud then you don't need to port forward as the services tunnel deals with the connection side of stuff.
on the home assistant cloud settings page on the instal, is remote access switched on?
It is switched on in Home Assistant Cloud. Just don't know if Remote Home-Assistant integration will work with it since it requires a port in setting up the connection.
change the port to 443 for it to use the normal https port for use with HA cloud
