define reasonably priced?
unifi released their cheaper router recently, its at the high end of your range but maybe worth a look as you know it will be quality - https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/category/cloud-gateways-wifi-integrated/products/ux7
the older version is a bit cheaper but availability is more of an issue - https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/category/cloud-gateways-wifi-integrated/products/ux
you could also roll your own router if your feeling more adventurous
See....no that's not fair....I have a white PS5 and looking to get some new (white) furniture.
the bigger one will be better but its more expensive - https://uk.store.ui.com/uk/en/category/cloud-gateways-wifi-integrated/products/udr7
I'd need a switch with this? as some of my devices are plugged in via a cable, like the PS5
the smaller one only has 1 wan and 1 lan port so yeah you would need a switch if you need to plug multiple things into it
you can go fancy with switches but you can just get cheap gigabit switches for next to nothing too
OK, thanks for the help. Much appreciated.
no worries, good luck with it.
Sorry, one more question, what do I look for in a router to ensure it supports what I need?
in what way?
That it will still function if my internet drops.
to be fair, pretty much every router should maintain the LAN side even when WAN drops. it must be a quirk of your one that it doesnt for some reason
if its reasonable then it will do it
OK, thanks again, I get the feeling is mine.
you could see if there's a firmware update for it maybe? but honestly if its having issues like that in the first place then its probably something to get rid of
