#Voice PE Pre-Announce Media ID not Playing

Hi,

I have downloaded 2025.4 and the corresponding updates for VPE and I'm having trouble getting my pre-announce media to play.

  1. I can play the media ID on SONOS just fine: x-file-cifs://blackhole/christopher/Home%20Assistant%20-%20Audio%20Files/Announcement%20Sound.mp3 from the sound's location on Synology
  2. I can play the media file on VPE if I add the VPE to Music Assistant and use play media: library://track/41
  3. I cannot play pre-announce media on VPE using the Assist Satellite function with either media ID from above. Using the Synology x-file from above doesn't play and the Assist Satellite obviously doesn't have access to Music Assistant so Library doesn't work and you can't use the Assist Satellite function with devices you've pulled into Music Assistant.

How do I need to craft the media ID in the Assist Satellite function in order for the pre-announce media to play correctly on VPE and/or has somebody confirmed that this does in fact work and I'm just doing something wrong?

I figured it out. i needed to add my Synology sounds folder to the media tab. Once I got that far, I could play the sounds on SONOS and grab the media ID, plugged it into Assist Satellite and it works.

Removed 'Resolved' Tag

This stopped working today. Now the media files won't play on VPE using the Assist Satellite Announce feature with custom pre-announce ID. Weird thing is, when I configured this all yesterday and it was working, the media content ID's I was getting from dev tools were:

I know this because it's what I used in testing and it's how I refactored all my announcement code.

Today, when the sounds stopped working, I investigated the media Id's in dev tools and all the media id's that I was using have been converted to flac:

Also today, neither approach will play the pre-announce media. It skips the media and plays the message. If I use the built in pre-announce sound, no issue, sound plays. If I play media on VPE using the same media content ID, it plays fine. It's only when I use the satellite announce feature with pre-announce, that I'm not getting playback (even though I got playback yesterday). I noticed the release notes said they fixed some decoder stuff with some flac files and I'm starting to wonder if this is a continued problem from that.
