#mTLS client certificates with multiple HA servers problem on Android companion app?

I have home assistant working nicely with mtls / client certificate working on my home setup. I've also deployed a new home assistant for a club, with its own CA, its own set of certs, and so on. The client cert I've created and installed on my android device works, since I can log in to home assistant with chrome using it. But the companion app gives me a 400 error. The error message actually alternates between "this HA need a client cert, please install" and just "no description provided". I'm wondering if there's some issue with having multiple servers in one app that need different certs - maybe it gets confused somehow. Not super duper important since I can access it with chrome instead and I don't need companion app features, but would still be good to get solved. (And maybe there's a bug to solve somewhere as well.) App version 2025.1.2-full.

the cert works in chrome on the same device with the same cert... and the companion app works fine when on the internal network (i.e. not going through the nginx stuff). it didn't ask me to choose a cert when adding the connection in the companion app btw

while chrome asks every new session which cert to use
