HASS Agent Media Player

Anyone using the HASS Agent Media Player and have it working? I have enabled it, all my sensors are working fine over MQTT, but no Media Player object is ever created in HA.

I suggest using Music Assistant and the Music Assist companion app.
I use this setup to have my desktop as a media player so i can push TTS to it (and play music through music assistant)

Ah, okay, so.. I'm trying to control Windows, as a media player, in Home Assistant. Not play music from Home Assistant on Windows.

oh i figured you wanted to send stuff to the media player. you just want to send media commands?

on hass.agent you can go to the commands config and expose media key commands

another solution if your using VLC would be to use the "VLC media player via Telnet" integration to control that

Ahhhhh okay - I thought it was possible to stream Now Playing and things (that's what the doc made it sound like) using media players such as Spotify.

Although having PlayPause as a command will suit my needs well enough. Just trying to make my computer pause media when a phone call comes in my phone.

Although without the streaming, it'd be hard to tell Home Assistant to pause, if it doesn't know something is playing...

Sorry to intercept the conversation: does Music Asisstant work with diy Wyoming satellites now? Do I need to do anything on the Wyoming satellite to make it work, like using Pulseaudio instead of Alsa?

if it exposes to home assistant as a media player, then music assistant can output to it using the "home assistant player provider".

Well it can play back media if I give it a media ID and I use it to announce things. I don't know how to check if it exposes as a media player. There's no entity like that exposed

if you can play media on it then i beleive that it is probably exposed as a media player

in music assistant ensure home assistant mediaplyers is added as a player provider and you should be able to add the players to it using that
