Hey all! I have a garage that’s setup with MyQ, and I’ve tried a lot of things to try to integrate it into home assistant. Solution I’ve found is, using RatGDO, however, I’m in an apartment, so I’m not sure if the wiring is too advanced for apartments. I’ve been given the a-ok as long as I restore the apartment.

The version i installed on the opener I have didnt require more than unplugging a couple wires, plugging them into ratgdo and connecting its wires to the opener. Didnt require even stripping a wire. Used a usb plug into the second outlet the opener plugged into. Quick and easy and even easier to undo.

Both of my openers are chamberlain with yellow learn button. I have an older ratgdo, but the newer ones look even easier to connect

And it’s easy plug and play? That’s what I’m worried about given it’s not a place I get to keep

Basically you're just connecting the ratgdo between the wall button and opener. With the wire harness and the pinch connectors on the opener and ratgdo you dont even need tools (other than a ladder)

You configure it from your computer before you connect it though. If removing it you dont need to change its configuration, just remove it from the opener and reconnect original wires

Awesome. I’ll go ahead and order it. I’ll keep this open for the time being and let you know if I have any questions. Gotta open a few of these for some of my rather off brand stuff

Good luck! Ive been pretty happy with mine. Looks like the current ones are a little more expensive but have a mounting bracket included. The disco version seems a little overkill, but if you're always hitting stuff in your garage it could be a fun idea.
