Every time I have to reboot the VM, the esp32 device i have cannot be found by home assistant. It's found by ESPhome just fine. So I push out an update to the ESP, and boom, HA can see it again.
This does NOT happen when I restart HA via web browser or app. Only when the VM goes down.
What am I missing here?

VirtualBox. Ethernet.
Moving to minipc this weekend to get it off my pc, and off of a vm.
Also just found out my router (amplifi alien) doesn't support vlans, so I'll happily take suggestions there too.

but what type of networking is the virtual adaptor? e.g. host/nat its probably that.
if your moving to a mini pc in short order then i wouldnt dwell on it to much

if you really think you need vlans
