Hi! I am getting my basement finished and I would like to make every switch smart. I am currently looking at making all my switches upstiars and downstairs with these: https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/collections/zooz/products/zooz-700-series-z-wave-plus-dimmer-zen72?variant=40229244272703.

However I am still needing some fan switches. I really want smart fan switches simply for my humidity sensors to auto turn on the fan when someone showers. However I would also like the fan to auto turn off after "x" time someone manually turns it off. Is there switches you can program that directly onto so HA doesn't need to be involved?

Forgot to mention. I want to stick to Zwave. Wifi will be considered but Zigbee is garbage.

#

Also, I want to eventually get some presense sensors going. are the inovelli worth it? Or should I just do seperate sensors and integrate it with my custom temp/humidty sensors?

The zooz switch’s you show have that ability even on the firmware of the switch to turn off after xxx minutes.

Otherwise you could create an automation to do it.

All of my switches in my house are the zooz hooked up to a Aeotec Smart things hub… which is integrated with home assistant. I do this so that I can use Alexa voice commands to switch on any of the ZWave switches.

I'm wondering what makes the innovelli so much more than the zoz

Zooz

The light bar on the side is really nice to have, its 7 individually controllable full color LED's

Hmm good to know. Thank you!

the other thing is able to get matching fan switches, addon switches, additional buttons, they also support up to quintuple button presses on up, down, and additional button, so you have a lot of options for automation too.

#

the fan canopy modules and non-neutral options are also really nice

#

and i do zigbee so that i can do zigbee bindings and have things talk to each other without HA being in the mix

This is really good info. I may go for the innovelli. I have 20 zigbee bulbs in my house, all spread evenly with good LQI and they will randomly drop. So I'm trying to avoid zigbee. Been through 3 different hubs/dangles and countless firmware.

i have removed almost all of my zigbee bulbs and replaced them with switches, haven't yet had an issue with the switches

#

bulbs get used as routers because they're AC powered, and if someone uses the switch it screws stuff up horribly

Might be a Hue bulb thing. I just want to smart lights in the lamps is all

kept having kids or grandparents using the physical switches

Luckily that isn't an issue for me as my wife is really good about using the remotes for the lamps.

i had bad luck with hue and sengled bulbs for sure

That honestly makes me feel better about my stuff. Maybe I'll reconsider zigbee since zwavw doesn't have fans switches yet
